Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data Find My Stuff collects, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain and we keep it honest.
In short: we collect only what's needed to run the app — your account details and the inventory you create. We don't sell your data, we don't run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and you can delete everything at any time from Settings → Delete Account.
1. Who we are
Find My Stuff ("the app", "we", "us") is a household inventory app for iOS and Android. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, the data controller is:
[Operator legal name][Postal address]
Email: valentova.lucie@outlook.com
2. Data we collect
We collect only the data needed to provide the service:
Account information
- Email address and display name — when you register, or as provided by Apple or Google if you use social sign-in.
- Password — only if you create an email/password account. It is stored as a salted hash (bcrypt); we never store or see your plain-text password.
- Sign-in provider identifier — for Sign in with Apple or Google, a token that identifies your account with that provider.
- Optional profile details — profile photo, default home and dashboard preferences.
Content you create
- The homes, rooms, containers and items you add, including their names, descriptions, quantities, locations and any photos you upload.
- Membership and invitation details when you share a home or room with others.
Technical data
- Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in, and basic technical information (such as app version and server logs) needed to operate and secure the service.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
3. How and why we use it
We use your data to:
- provide and sync the app across your devices;
- authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- enable sharing and collaboration when you invite others;
- respond to your support requests.
Our legal bases under the GDPR are: performance of a contract (providing the app you signed up for), legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and working), and consent (for optional device permissions such as camera and photos, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings). We do not sell your personal data.
4. Camera & photo permissions
The app asks for camera access so you can scan container QR codes and take item photos, and for photo-library access so you can attach existing photos to items. These permissions are optional, are used only for those features, and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
5. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers ("processors") that help us run the app, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Sign-in providers — Apple and Google, when you choose social sign-in (subject to their own privacy policies).
- Hosting & database — to store your account and inventory data.
- Image storage — photos you upload are kept in private object storage and served through temporary, expiring links.
- App delivery — Expo, for app updates.
We may also disclose data where required by law. We never sell your data or share it for third-party advertising.
6. Storage & retention
Your data is stored securely and kept for as long as your account is active. Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted in transit, and uploaded images are private by default. When you delete your account, your data is removed (see below).
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email us at valentova.lucie@outlook.com.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data — your homes, rooms, containers, items and uploaded images — from our systems. If you can't access the app, email valentova.lucie@outlook.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we'll do it for you.
9. Children
Find My Stuff is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Where your data is processed outside your country or the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you where practicable.
12. Contact
